About

My approach, background and experience

“My work sits at the intersection of advanced reconstructive expertise and refined aesthetic judgement. I bring the same precision, care and respect for form and function to cosmetic surgery as I do to complex reconstruction.”

Specialty

I am a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon and the department clinical lead at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospital and one of the UK’s leading specialists in lymphoedema surgery, breast reconstruction and head and neck cancer reconstruction. My NHS practice is centred on caring for patients at some of the most vulnerable points in their lives – supporting women through breast cancer treatment, complex microsurgical reconstruction and recovery and working as part of the multidisciplinary team for head and neck cancer surgery.

I bring the same reconstructive rigour to a wider range of procedures in my private practice – from breast and body surgery to facial rejuvenation – with a focus on results that look natural and feel right for each patient.

My Story

As a teenager, I watched surgeons care for my sister after she was seriously injured in a road traffic accident. What stayed with me was not just the technical skill involved, but the way it was used – to restore function, to preserve dignity, and to give our family back something that had felt lost. That is why I became a surgeon.

As a female surgeon working extensively in breast and body surgery, I understand the emotional weight that changes to the body can carry. Empathy is not separate from surgical care. It’s part of it.

Training

I trained across two renowned UK plastic surgery rotations before undertaking advanced fellowship training in Canada, specialising in complex microvascular reconstruction at Toronto General Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Whilst there I developed particular expertise in supermicrosurgery for cancer-related lymphoedema – an area in which I am now one of the UK’s most experienced practitioners.

Experience

A further fellowship in microsurgery at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ and being awarded the prestigious London Clinic Aesthetic Surgery fellowship brought together specialist training in complex reconstruction and aesthetic surgery – the combination that defines my practice today.

Alongside my medical practice, I have published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to the Oxford Textbook of Plastic Surgery. I have a keen interest in training and teaching and am the Royal College of Surgeons Surgical Tutor for the Trust and serve as faculty on surgical skills and FRCS specialty examination courses.
